Obituary

Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Nathaniel Evans, Sr. of Tampa, who passed away, Wednesday, September 1, 2010, will be held Saturday, September 11th, 12:30 p.m., at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Rev. Michael Neely, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Nathaniel Evans, Sr., was born on September 3, 1934, in Lawrence, MS, to the late Thomas and Amanda Evans. He attended the schools of Union, MS. He loved to work and worked with Tampa Housing Authority for 32 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Amanda Evans; brothers, Dewey Evans, Charlie Louis Evans and B. Wesley Evans, and sisters, Willie Maude Larkin, Quetha Evans and Jerlean Robinson. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Verna G. Evans; 3 sons, Nathan G. Evans and wife, Della A., Ricky Evans and David Evans and wife, Taza; 4 daughters, Jennifer Evans (Robert VanBuren), Otha Evans (Marvin Breedlove), Pearlor Evans and Dorothy Evans; brothers and sisters, Lela Mae Lewis (late Fat Lewis), Chicago, IL, Lillie Mae Evans, Flint, MI, Emma McTizie (Thomas McTizie), Omaha, NE, AC Evans (late Sally Evans), Omaha, NE, R.C. Evans, Omaha, NE and Charlie Willis Evans (Sudie Evans), Union MS, Hubert Evans (Margie Evans), Chicago, IL, Joe Louis Evans, Kingsland, GA, and Larry Evans (Mae Evans), Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Natasha Evans, Jazzimia Evans, LaTroya Evans, Chelseca Evans, Ozzie Rubin, Jeffery L. Davis, Jr., Cornelius Byrd, Jr., Ronald Byrd, Nandis G. Evans, Carlos T. Walden, Kenneth Walden, Daviathan Evans, De'Mario Smith, Victoria Breedlove, Angel Breedlove, Denzell Breedlove, Haven Evans, Dominique Walker, Ricky Evans, Eric Walker, Donnell Pierce, Jameriyah and Jemeilla Sanders, Jeffrey Jr., Janiyah Lowman, SheNika Hunt and Ronald Byrd, Jr.; great grandchildren, Cornaillius Byrd, Rasheil Byrd, Adrain Campbell, Aaron Campbell, Ronisha Byrd, Charity Murray, Dajour Rubin, Kyannya Byrd, Jyreese Davis, Jacquez Davis, Kalescia Byrd and Eric Walker, Jr.; and a host of nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, September 10, 2010 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday for the service.
