A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Nedra Francine Jackson Harris of Tampa, FL who passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012 will be held Saturday, December 15th, 11:00 a.m. at Galilee Baptist Church, 3221 E Louisiana Avenue, Elder Kennedy Watson, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Nedra Francine Jackson Harris was born on September 3, 1947 in Tampa Florida. She was the first born in the marriage of the late Eugene and Lucia Jackson. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She attended public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Middleton Sr. High School Class of 1965. She continued her post educational studies at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee, Florida earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and a Masters Degree from the University of South Florida. Nedra worked in Hillsborough County School Systems for 35 years. She was a Business Technology teacher. She served as an instructor at Van Buren Middle School, Williams Middle School, Hillsborough High School, Freedom High School and Orient Road facilities for Juveniles. She retired from Hillsborough County Public School System in 2009 after 35 years of service as an educator. Her love for children began at an early age and was displayed throughout her life. Nedra was a very loving an active young lady who adored her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She loved her family and enjoyed her life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her parents: Eugene and Lucia Jackson and brother, Eugene Jackson Jr. She leaves to celebrate her memories: a loving and devoted daughter, Liza Johnson, and son, Ronald Johnson, wife (Nichelle); two sisters, Nadine Johnson and Tammy Russ. five grandchildren, Sherrise Johnson, Nicole Johnson, Darryl Richardson, Darlesa Richardson, and Ronald Johnson, Jr., two nephews, Corey Johnson, and J'Andre Russ; niece, Jessica Russ; cousins, Inez & Willie B. Doyle, Sharron Doyle, Rashad, Stacy &, Van Borders, James, Jacob, Cleophus, Betty, Tyrone, Earl, Walter, Mark, Jacob Jr. and Katrina Jackson, Patricia Hicks, Terry & Shaun Martin (Atlanta), Arlisia & Rick Relford, Beverly Harvin, Lanier Cooper, Dorothy & Samuel Drew, Willie Williams, Cassandra & Howard Peas, Judy Stevens, Debra Brown, and Meloudis Clark; a host of other cousins, relatives and sorrowing friends; very devoted friends, Elder Kennedy Watson, Martha Kinsey, and Shelly Miller. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 14th. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service on Saturday.
