Obituary

Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Nellie Mae Bramlett of Tampa who passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 will be held Saturday, November 23rd at 11 a.m, Mt. Olive M.B. Church, C.P Epps Drive, and Rev. Michael White, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Nellie Mae Bramlett daughter of the late John W. "Jack" Watson and Sallie T. Watson was born August 17, 1933 in Ocilla, GA. She was baptized at an early age and united with New Bethel Baptist Church. She attended public school in Ocilla and was the mother of two sons. She moved to Tampa, FL., where she joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C. P. Epps. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital and after years of dedicated employment, she retired. In addition, she worked at Brighter Community Inc., as a foster grandparent until failing health required that she relinquish her duties. As a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church she worked with the Kitchen Committee, Number One Usher Board, Senior Women Sunday School Class and organized the Nurses Guild which was renamed The Health Care Team. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mattie Lee Tyson; parents and nephew, Curtis Watson, Jr.; She leaves to cherish her memories with a loving and devoted husband of 27 years, John P. Bramlett, Jr.; children, James Ripley, Jr. Tampa, FL and Lamar (Sherry) Ripley Syracuse, NY; step-son, Antonio (Felicia) Pringley Tampa, FL; step-daughter, Kathy Graham, Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Stefan Ripley Baldwinsville, NY, Corey (Stacy) Zimmer, Cicero, NY, Dina (Christopher) DeSouza Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Tamika Ripley Syracuse, NY, Tamara Graham, Tampa, FL, Donta Walker, DaVanta Walker and Anthony Pressley, all of Tampa, FL; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson, Eyan Jackson; stepmother, Theodoshia Watson Sebring, FL; brothers, Curtis (Denise) Watson, Sr., Atlanta, GA, David (Annie) Tate, Tampa, FL, John (Clara) Tate, (Lawton, OK), Willie (Cynthia) Tate, Sebring, FL; sisters, Esther Mae Watson, Ocilla, GA, Dorothy Dopson, Ocilla, GA, MaryAnn (Theopolous) Williams, Sebring, FL; aunts, Mattie Lee Mintz, Thelma Powell and Christeele Madison all of Indianapolis, IN; nieces, Dale Watson, Dunedin, FL and Nyree (Alan) Moss, McDonough, GA; nephews, Edward (Sandra) Watson, Ocilla, GA, Lamont Watson, Sr., (Lisa) all of Riverdale, GA and Christopher Watson, Sr., Riverdale, GA; sisters-in-law, Jean Bramlett and Betty Anderson both of Chicago, IL; numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, other relatives and many friends; special friends, Blanche Ancrum and Sheila Pressley. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, November 22nd from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
