Homegoing service for Mrs. Nellie Mae Iverson of Seffner who passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, will be held on Saturday, July 26th, 11:00 a.m., at St. John Cathedral Church, 3401 E. 25th Ave., Bishop Eddie Newkirk, Senior Pastor with Pastor Tony Parker, officiating. Interment will be in Mayberry Cemetery, Seffner, Florida. Nellie was born on February 24, 1911. She was a domestic housekeeper for many years. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking and playing cards. Her favorite hymn, "Nearer my God to Thee", which she sang that song up until she answered the roll call to come home. Welcome home to your heavenly Father Christ Jesus His Holy words say, "You will have eternal life". She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Fannie Thomas; daughter, Elsie Thomas, grandsons, John and Dennis Thomas, Richard Iverson, Jr., brothers, Thornton, Lee Hardy and John (Cowboy) Thomas, sisters, Flossie Armwood, Hazel Young, Hattie Thomas and Lula Belcher; devoted companion of many years, Jack Anderson. She leaves to cherish her memories with her devoted children, John E. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 25th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
