Homegoing service for Mrs. Nellie Mae Iverson of Seffner who passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, will be held on Saturday, July 26th, 11:00 a.m., at St. John Cathedral Church, 3401 E. 25th Ave., Bishop Eddie Newkirk, Senior Pastor with Pastor Tony Parker, officiating. Interment will be in Mayberry Cemetery, Seffner, Florida. Nellie was born on February 24, 1911. She was a domestic housekeeper for many years. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking and playing cards. Her favorite hymn, "Nearer my God to Thee", which she sang that song up until she answered the roll call to come home. Welcome home to your heavenly Father Christ Jesus His Holy words say, "You will have eternal life". She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Fannie Thomas; daughter, Elsie Thomas, grandsons, John and Dennis Thomas, Richard Iverson, Jr., brothers, Thornton, Lee Hardy and John (Cowboy) Thomas, sisters, Flossie Armwood, Hazel Young, Hattie Thomas and Lula Belcher; devoted companion of many years, Jack Anderson. She leaves to cherish her memories with her devoted children, John E. Evans "Pahokee", Jimmie Iverson, Richard Iverson, Barbara Anderson and Mildred Iverson; 46 grandchildren, Deidre Cochran (Julius), Darryl Anderson and Alton (Claudia) Anderson of Germany, Trinity Hayes, Sonya, Jimmie, Jr. (Heather), Vincent (Laverne) and Jermaine Iverson, Shawntae Allen (Corey), California, Betty Cribbs (Roger), Louis Thomas II, Nandi and Lisa Brooks (Tony), Steven Dowers, Robert White and Samuel Jones; great grandchildren, Julius (Shauna), Marquis, Megan and Jalen Cochran, Octavia, Christopher, Tia, Darryl, Jr., Imari, Tiara, Deonte, Alton, Jr. and Shakira Anderson, Javari and Monika Johnson, Willie Jones, Tanasha and Terrell White, Corey, Daniella, Zartarria, Jakayla, Jalia, Jerissia, Jermaine, Jr., Jessie Lee, Aleshia, Dontea, Richard, Jr., Melissa, Joseph, Trey, Raeonnya, Kadir and Zinda Iverson, Sydney and Shari Bodden, Eryce Mclaughlin, Jeremiah Gadson, Kayson Hall, Zanae, Corey and Camri Allen and Louis Thomas, Jr.; nieces, Mary Washington and Essie Jones; nephew, Clarence Steven; cousins, Billie Thomas (Willie Mae), Corine Bowden and Toynetta Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 25th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
