Homegoing services in memory of Ms. Nettie Maude Butler "Sis", who was called home on Thursday, March 8, 2012, will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10:00 A.M., at College Hill Mennonite Church, 3506 Machado St., Tampa, Florida 33605, with the pastor, Roy Williams, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Sister Nettie Maude Butler, the daughter of the late Walter James and Leo Harvin Butler was born June 13, 1926 in Gadsden County, Florida. She confessed Christ at an early age and upon moving to Tampa in 1955, she joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Tampa, Florida. She later became a member of College Hill Mennonite Church, where she was a faithful member until her health failed. On Thursday, March 8, 2012, Sister Nettie Butler answered her call to glory. She was affectionately called and will always be remembered as "Sis". She was preceded in death by her father, mother, one sister and brother. She leaves to cherish her memories: two sisters, Mrs. Sarah (OC) Gurley, Reno, Georgia and Mrs. Hattie (Odell) Helms, Tampa, Florida; sister-in-law, Mrs. Ocie Butler; a special nephew, Walter T. Butler aka "Bubba"; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, March 16th, from 5-7 p.m. Family and Friends attending the homegoing service are asked to meet at the church at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday for the service.
