Nikoloas Emil Liddell Jr., affectionately known as Lil Nik, whose vibrant spirit and infectious joy brightened the lives of all who knew him, passed away on June 1, 2024, at the tender age of 11. Nikoloas was born on March 29, 2013, to D'Vonndrea Latress Blackmon and Nikoloas Emil Liddell Sr. , in Tampa, FL. Lil Nik was a shining light from the very beginning, his smile serving as a beacon of love and warmth within his community. A student at Hillsborough County Public Schools and Potter Elementary School, Lil Nik was known for his eagerness to learn and his readiness to lend a helping hand. His academic journey was marked by curiosity and a bright intellect that promised a future filled with achievements and aspirations. Lil Nik's interests were a reflection of his zest for life and his love for those around him. He found joy in playing baseball for Belmont Heights Little League, where he displayed not only his athletic skills but also his ability to bring teammates together. His passion for vlogging showcased his creative side and allowed him to connect with others by sharing his adventures and his infectious enthusiasm for life. In the kitchen, Lil Nik was a budding chef, delighting in cooking and dreaming of one day mastering the culinary arts. His favorite food, chicken wings, and his famous homemade cinnamon toast were just a taste of the love he poured into every dish he prepared. Described by those who knew him as loving, friendly, and adventurous, Lil Nik's legacy is one of boundless affection, genuine connections, and a spirit of exploration that knew no limits. His life, though far too short, was a beautiful reminder of the impact one young soul can have on the world. Lil Nik's departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary young man, we take solace in knowing that his journey continues beyond this world, and that his light will forever shine in the hearts of those he loved.
Lil Nik's great-grandparents, Junita Patmon, George O'Neal, Melvin and Marilouise Hardrick , his great-uncle Ronnie Blackmon, and great-aunts Patricia Dennis and Deloris Locklear, who preceded him in death, undoubtedly greeted him with open arms, their legacy of kindness and strength living on through him.
Lil Nik's life was a testament to the power of family and friendship. He was deeply cherished by his loving mother, D'Vonndrea Latress Blackmon, and his father, Nikoloas Emil Liddell Sr. His sisters, Niobi C. Liddell and Nadia S. Liddell, will forever hold dear the precious memories of their playful and caring brother. Lil Nik was a beloved grandson to Herman and Char'lee Liddell of Moss Point, MS, Cassandra Blackmon (KT) of Tampa, FL, Melvin Hardrick of Tampa, FL, and Andre Blaylock, Sr. of Tampa, FL. His memory will be a treasure to his aunts Shaquanda Blaylock (Gerrod) and Jennifer Liddell of McKinney, TX, D'vonntay Wimbush, Raven Wimbush, Xianna Hardrick, D'vonnisha Hardrick, Jaeln Hardrick and TeTe; his uncles Andre Blaylock Jr. (Chrelle) of Tampa, FL, Camillus (Kametra) Liddell of Bennington, NE, and H. Deveon Liddell of Moss Point, MS, Demerick Johnson, Kentwan Wimbush; and his great-aunts Diane and Deandrea Willis and Great uncle Marlon Butler, who watched him grow and flourish.
The joy Lil Nik brought to his family extended to his cousins, with whom he shared countless unforgettable moments. Ranecia Hamilton, Jamauni Brewer, Heavenly Mitchell, Autumn Mitchell, Jarod Watson, Adriana Blaylock, Dream Blaylock, Andre Blaylock III, Sincere Blaylock, Landon Blaylock, Sanii Liddell, Jameya Liddell, Cedric Crockett, Cierra Crockett, Kamari Liddell, Khalil Liddell, Janet (Davis) Williams, Courtney Willis, Ragan Willis, Clarence Matthews, and Jakon Saffold will all miss their dear Lil Nik, as will his special friend, Javen Haywood of Tampa, FL, and a host of other relatives and friends whose lives he touched.
