Obituary

Norman S. Carter was born on April 27, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late William and Melvene Carter. He grew up in a loving home and was the second eldest of five children. At an early age, he learned the values of hard work, compassion, kindness, and faith. A proud graduate of Sandusky High School, Class of 1979, Norman went on to attend Tuskegee University for two years before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. He served honorably and retired after 15 years of dedicated service at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL. Norman was known for his warm heart and welcoming spirit. He loved entertaining, connecting with people, and bringing laughter to any room. He was deeply respected in his community for his generosity, wisdom, and remarkable sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Cynthia Carter.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories to be cherished by his lifelong partner and best friend, Angela D. Carter, with whom he shared 21 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and unity. Norman was a devoted father to Marek Carter (Aisha) and Chae Carter-Stockdale (SanQuan), and a proud stepfather to Timothy Coney Jr (Raquel) and Tevin Coney. He leaves behind his sister, Onita Garcia (Rafael); brothers, Jonathan Carter (Kaii) and Jerome Carter; mother-in-law, Betty Warren (Freddie); and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunties, and many beloved friends who will forever cherish his memory.
