Obituary

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Norris Myers of Tampa who passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 will be held Saturday, April 25th at 2:00 p.m., Mt. Sinai AME Zion Church, 2909 N. Nebraska Avenue, Rev. Jim Caldwell, officiating. The interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Norris Myers was born on September 30, 1926 to Johnnie and Eddie Mae Brown in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Norris was married to the late Arthur Myers, Sr. for many years, and was a loving wife, mother of four children and a loving grandmother. She loved to cook, cooking and serving were some of the gifts of this young lady. She enjoyed fishing and having an open house to those who wanted to stop by to talk and sit down and be served food. She loved to feed you or help anytime she could and also loved to garden. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur Myers Sr.; son, Arthur Myers, Jr.; sister, Cleo Davis; brothers, Rodger, Eddie and John H. Brown. Mrs. Myers leaves to cherish her memories; 2 daughters, Frances Nappier and Ethel Sams; 1 son, David Myers, Sr.; grandchildren, Dexter (Tesha) and Reginald Myers, Sr. (Lena), Stephanie Atkins-Smith, James Sams, Jr., Andreca Bludsaw (Kenneth), Shanetta Brown (Kharon), David, Jr., Teela, Desmond, Brandon and Shawn Myers; great-grandchildren, Chantlet Viverette, Dexstasha Sureller (Clarence), Kennesha Bludsaw and Reginald Myers, Jr.; sisters, Ethel Lee Brown and Doris Turner; nieces, Bettie Williams (Charles) and Mildred Williams, Bernice Pue, Linda Osborne, Janice, Barbara A., Shirley, Cynthia and Denise Turner; nephews, Andrew Brown (Freddie), Earnest and Alton Tarpley (Trevino), Robert (Belinda), Gregory (Kawana) and Glenn Brown, Booker T., Benjamin, Danny and Anthony Turner; a host other family and friends; Mt. Sinai AME Zion Church family; Helen Williams, M. Ross and the Cail and Carson families. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, April 24th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
