Omanes Benisse was born on January 17, 1950, in La Gonâve, Haiti. He was a man of quiet strength, warmth, and deep devotion to his family, Omanes lived a life filled with love, purpose, and grace. He found joy in the simple pleasures—spending time with his family, watching his grandchildren grow, and nurturing his garden with care and patience. His hands, always busy in the soil or holding a grandchild, were a symbol of his generous heart and enduring spirit.

Omanes leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of all who knew him. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Leonine Benisse; children, Julie Rice, Minila Benisse, Wilma Benisse, John Baptiste, Emmanuel Sejour, Orel Jean- Baptiste, and Julio Jean-Baptiste, Jacque Narcisse, Edourad Narcisse, and Frantz Dorce; grandchildren, Alicia Jean-Baptiste, Juliehanna Jean-Baptiste, David Saston Benisse, Chammaella Sasna Benisse, Romane Judley Jean-Baptiste, Malaysia Rice, and Alereon Jean- Baptiste, and ; John A. Jean-Baptiste, Jr., and Ava Jean-Baptiste; sisters, Adeline Lindor and Sernilia Benisse; nieces, Madame Jean Élie Pierre, Madan Jn Renand Obel, Madame Richardson Fleurine, Madame Melene LinDor, Madame Matanie Lindor, Madame Mosena Lindor, Madame Lena Lindor, Jean Wesmy Lindor, Terson Lindor, Louvens Lindor, and Yolene Lindor; nephews, Williamson François, Jean Risme Français, and Devenson Français; as well as extended family and loved ones.
