Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Ophelia Burney of Tampa, FL who passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015, 4:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Rev. Quantai Washington, officiating. The interment will follow. Mrs. Ophelia Burney was born May 27, 1927 in Ben Hill County, GA to the late Cornel Bishop and Ida Scott. She later married to the late John David Burney. Ophelia enjoyed gardening, cooking and having a good time in conversation with her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and 2 daughters, Ida Ruth and Audrey Mae; She leaves to cherish her memories with her 2 sons, Ezekial Farrow (Dorothy) and Howard Roundtree; daughter-in-law, Darlene Roundtree; grandchildren, Latoya Rock (Ernest), LaTashia Lawrence, Renee McKinsey, Corey Graham, Vernon Lee Simmon, Micheal Roundtree, Antoinette Roundtree, Christena Roundtree and Shemika Roundtree; and a host of nephews; nieces; cousins; very special friend, Lola Mae Hazard and special friend, Cathy Anderson. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 31st from 4 to 6 p.m. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
