Homegoing services for Mrs. Ovida Dennard Harris of Tampa, who passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, will be held on Saturday, February 25th, 11:00 a.m. at New Friendship M.B. Church 3107 E. Lake Ave., with Rev. H.L. Daniels pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Ovida was born December 10, 1931 in Tampa, Florida. She was a caregiver and enjoyed spending time with her sisters daily. She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Dennard, Sr.; mother, Mamie Ray Dennard; sisters, Helen Starks and Loretha McHenry; brothers, Willie Dennard, Jr., Johnnie Dennard and Jimmy Dennard, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories with; her husband, Mitchell Harris; children, LaShawn Jones (Will), Roy Allen, Jr., (Billie), Harriet Allen, Keith Daniels (godson), Dee Dee Everett (Aaron) and Sadarria Lewis; grandchildren, Reko Baldwin (Shawn), Keyona Griffin, Lashawnequa McGee, Lenise Jones, Taj Allen, Kayla Jones, Jordan Mason, Christian Allen and Jailyn Allen; great grandchildren, Reko Allen, Jr., Reko Allen III, Reko Allen IV, Jaylil Allen, Anaja Griffin and Cobie Griffin and Romaine Nelson; sisters, Irene Harris and Louise Dennard; sister-in-law; Emma Dennard, nieces, Cynthia Foster, Georgia Grayes (Freeman), Casanthia Mingo (Willie), Michelle Peterson, Yolanda Blumenburg, Sharonda Dennard and Lora Showers (Reggie); nephews, Jorice Dennard, Michael Dennard, Fredrick Dennard, Jimmy Dennard, Jr. (Doris), Louis McHenry, Thomas Starks, Jr., Joshua Peterson, Jr., and Bosco Harris; cousin & best friend, Euniv Massey; special friend, Floyd Brewington; and a host of other relatives and special friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, February 24th, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. The family and friends are asked to meet at the Church on Saturday for the service.
