Pastor Brenda Ward-Borders was born on September 4, 1949 to the late Obie and Annie Ward of Plant City Florida. She attended school and graduated from Marshall High School in 1967. In her former years, she worked as an anesthesia technician at Brandon Hospital, Brandon, Florida. She enjoyed traveling and singing with her familys group for years and playing the piano as she praised the Lord. She stated that she was a grasshopper, jumping from church to church, until she became acquainted with the ministry of Bishop MB Jefferson. From meeting for service in houses to moving to the Hillsborough Avenue Church (Soul Winners),then to Deeper Life Christian Church on Nebraska Avenue (Tampa FL); she remained faithful under the leadership of Bishop MB Jefferson & Dr. Brenda Jefferson until the Lord called her home.
Pastor Brenda Border was a faithful servant who proved trustworthy to oversee the finances, teach Sunday School, Book, Chapter & Verse Instructor, MB Jefferson Bible College Instructor, Director of Usher Board and Pastoral Asst. at New Life in Louisville, KY and any other assignment given to her hands to perform. She was a true Blue Diamond and Daughter of Abraham. While in Louisville, she was joined in Holy Matrimony on June 12, 2003 to her devoted and loving husband, James Borders. She was a prudent wife and the Woman of God. She had one daughter, Pastor Elginna Franklin Mathis(Louisville, KY) who precedes her passing as well as one brother: Jesse Honors and three sisters: Bettye Honors Williams, Imogene Honors Crump and Evelyn Honors Chrisco (Sister in Law) - Ortha Jackie Ward.
Pastor Borders loved the Lord and to the end, she sang, prayed in the Holy Ghost and gave the Lord Him thanks. She stated, "If the Lord raise me up, I LIVE. If He calls me home, I LIVE. My trust is in Him and not in man. I thank God for my Miracle." She will be greatly missed by all who loved her and cherished their time with her.
She leaves a loving husband, Bro. James Borders (Tampa), sons, Pa. Elgin Frankiln (Stacie) & Pa. Les Franklin (Joann), sister, Shirley Honors Conley, brothers, Rondall Ward, Pa. Wayne Ward (Patricia), aunt, Maggie Oliver (Tallahassee). She leaves a host of grandchildren, great grand-children, nieces, nephews, cousins, special nieces: Debra Honors Floyd and Emma Crump Hallback.
