Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Patricia Lynn Mickens of Tampa who passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014 will be held Saturday, November 15th, 11:00 a.m. at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2511 E. Columbus Dr., Rev. Larry Roundtree III, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Deland, Florida. Patricia was born March 15, 1950 in Deland, Florida to the late Charlie Harris and Lawanda Pinkney. Patricia was a member of New Mt. Zion M.B. Church where she served in many ministries, Voice of Praise, Golden Gems, Singles Ministry, Senior Women's Mission and the Bereavement Ministry. She also enjoyed shopping, sewing, watching TV (Judge Judy and CSI were two of her favorite shows), singing and cooking. Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Harris; brothers, Randy and Larry; grandaunt, Josephine Pinkney and aunt, Josephine Corley. She leaves to cherish her fond and loving memories with her daughter, Angela Nealy (Nathan McDonald); grandchild, Darian Nealy; mother, Lawanda Bass; brother, Tharon Richardson; sisters, Brenda Harris, June Harris, Diane Harris and Wincie Evette Harris Tunsill; aunt, Hazel Collier and Gladys Stephens; uncle, Russell Harris; and a host of nieces and nephews; cousins, Donald Cook, Alethia Mahan and Lillian Thompson; and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, November 14th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive guest from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for service on Saturday.
