Funeral services for Mr. Patrick James Porteus of Tampa, who passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011, will be held on Saturday, June 4th, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, with Bro. Fred Ramsey, officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Mr. Patrick James Porteus was born on August 26, 1983 to Dodrick and Evon Porteus. Patrick grew up in Tampa, Florida where he attended Hillsborough County Schools. He graduated from Armwood High School in 2001 and also graduated from Dental Assisting program at Remington College. Patrick was known as "Lasheno Dank" by his friends. His hobbies included writing, rapping, and having fun with his family, his two precious daughters and friends. Patrick is survived by 2 daughters, Kevonna and Karannea Porteus of Tampa, FL; his parents, Dodrick and Evon Porteus of Tampa, FL; 1 brother, Jevon Porteus of Raiford, FL; 1 sister, Novelette Porteus of Tampa, FL; grandmothers, Margarett Gaskins of Nashville, GA and Anzie Wilmoth of Jamaica; aunts, Marie Davis of Gainesville, FL, Beverly Wilmoth of Jamaica, Lolly Winter of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Gladys Anderson, Renee and Veronica Anderson all of Nashville, GA; uncles, Charlie Durr and wife, Catherine of Newberry, FL, Jessie Durr, Adam Durr and wife, Willie Bell, Sonny Durr and wife, Terry all of Gainesville, FL, Jack Fisher of Tampa, FL, Rupert Johnson, Karl Wilmoth of Jamaica, Ralph White and wife, Willie B. of Valdosta, GA and Joe Durr of Orlando, FL; 1 great uncle, Frank Himes and wife, Elizabeth of Gainesville, FL; cousins, Esther Adams, Wayne Adams, Wankia Adams all of Leigh High, FL, Jasmine Dowery, Lebert Lawson, Brittany Wilson, Cameron Wilson and Cory Anderson; his daughter's mother, Marquita Glover; his best friend, Troy Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday from 5-8 p.m. Family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the Chapel at 1:45 on Saturday for the service.
