Homegoing services for Missionary Pauline Singletary Speed who passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2010, will be held on Saturday, July 31st, 2: 00 p.m. at College Hill Church of God In Christ, 6414 N. 30th Street, Elder Charles Davis, pastor with Elder Jadie Singletary officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Missionary Pauline Singletary Speed began life on October 6, 1947. She was born to the Late Willie M. Singletary Sr. and the Late Fannie Lou Singletary in Americus, Georgia. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Nathan Singletary, Charles Singletary, and Clemmie Lee Singletary and one sister, Walter Sue Shelton. On July 30, 1972, Missionary Pauline Singletary Speed was joined in holy matrimony to Ervin Speed Sr. This union resulted in a family of four sons and four daughters. Pauline was a wonderful, loving wife and mother who was greatly loved and appreciated by her children, grand children, and great grandchildren as well as anyone who came in contact with her. Pauline and Ervin vowed to love each other until they were parted by death - they kept that vow for thirty years - until August 2, 2002. After leaving Americus, Georgia and making Tampa her home, she found employment with Sol Walker until she became interested in housekeeping. She dedicated over 35 years to her career until her health failed. Missionary Pauline Singletary Speed worshipped at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Thonotosassa, Florida; she was a dedicated member for over 25 years. As a Missionary, Pauline lived a very spiritual and Christ-like life, always exhibiting her belief and strength in God. In her spare time she enjoyed going to yard sales, listening to spiritual music and watching old movies. Missionary Pauline Singletary Speed departed this earthly life in the early morning hours of Thursday, July 22, 2010 with family close by. To mourn her passing and cherish her memories and celebrate her home going are four sons, Reginald Singletary (Elaine) of Kansas City, KS; Pastor Dwayne Singletary (Stephanie); Garrick Pimienta Sr. (Valeria), of Tampa; Ervin Speed Jr.(Nicole) of Bismarck , ND.; four Daughters, Tonjua Walden (Irwin); Stephanie Speed; Tracy Butler; and Adrienne (Penny) Sneed (Jimmy), all of Tampa, Fl. Twenty-Three Grandchildren, Reginald Jr. and Adrian of Kansas City, Regina, Annie, Darrell, Dwayne Jr., Marquis, Quinton, Gabriel, Devin, Makayla, Shamira, Garrick (Antonio) Jr., DeAndre, Ebony, Erin, ReShawn, Cedric, Jashondra, Anthony, Almerie, and Xavier all of Tampa, Juwaun, of Bismarck, ND, Five Great Grand Children; Four Brothers, Willie Singletary Jr. (Evelynia); Elder Jadie M. Singletary (Josephine); Sol Singletary (Betty); and Marvin Singletary; Four Sisters, Martha Davis; Bonnie Barber (Henry); Lavelle (Renaye) Shaw; and Pinease Nobles (Roy); one godsister, Betty Wallace; one goddaughter, Doneica (Dawn) Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
