Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Peggye Jo Pincheon Jones, who passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014, will be held Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 11:00 am at New St. Paul AME Church, 4603 N. 42nd Street, Pastor Karen J. Sims. Interment at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Peggye was born on March 20, 1928 in Tampa, Florida. She attended the local public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Middleton Senior High, class of 1946. Mrs. Jones retired from St. Joseph Hospital after 38 years of employment. A life long member of St. Paul AME Church, Tampa, she was a founding member of the Women of Allen, a member of the Women's Missionary Society and Stewardess Board, retiring as a Stewardess Emeritus. Her faithfulness, balanced temperament, patience, perseverance and love was widely known in her family and community. Peggye was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Johnson and Jerome "Jack" Pincheon, husband, OD Jones and brothers, Kenneth and Roland Harris. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: devoted children, Ouida E. Hilton, Robert "Pete" Edwards, and Kevin Jones; grandchildren, Karen Hilton-Keith, Giria Edwards-Moore (Ricky), Arri Edwards and Christian Edwards (Rick); great grandchildren, NyGiria Knight, Aaron Keith, Marlon Edwards and Michael Baley; great-great grandchild, Kori Elizabeth; a loving dedicated daughter-in-law, Otella N. Edwards and devoted family friend, Lee "Frank" Keenan; many sorrowing cousins inclusive of the Curry, Stewart and Robinson families and a host of other relatives and friends. There will be a viewing Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Tampa, FL 33610. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 10:45 am on Thursday, June 12, 2014.
