Obituary

Homegoing celebration for Mr. Percelle Caruso Marshall, Jr. who passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 will be held Saturday, May 3rd at 2:00 p.m., Mt. Moriah P.B. Church, 1225 N, Nebraska Ave. Dr. B.R. Fulton pastor, officiating. Percelle (Percy) Caruso Marshall, Jr. was born February 13, 1931 in Micanopy, Florida to the late Percy C. Marshall and Sarah Bryant. He attended schools in Alachua and Pinellas County and graduated from Gibbs High school in 1949. Thereafter, Mr. Percelle C. Marshall, Jr. joined the U.S Air force and served in the Korean War; where he received a medal for his service as well as a good conduct medal, DCC medal and UN service medal. He was honorable discharged in 1954. Percelle enjoyed life dearly; his favorite things to do were bowling, playing softball, reading and photography. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; life companion, Alma Jean Mitchell and brother, Leroy Marshall. Mr. Marshall is survived by his only devoted son, Kelvin Marshall; lovely granddaughter, Tayanna Marshall; 3 brothers, Orion Marshall (Rachel) and James Marshall of Gainsville, Florida, John Marshall (Felicia); 6 sisters, Marion Scott of Charlotte, North Carolina, Paula Marshall, Rosa Marshall, Janet Marshall, Mary Carter (Thomas) of Gainesville, FL and Jeralene Marshall of Jacksonville, Florida; 27 nieces and nephews; 8 great nieces and nephews; a special friend and neighbor, Gladys Washington and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday May 3rd from 5 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
