Obituary

Percy was born on July 18, 1933, in Marianna, Florida, to Percy and Nora Bryant Everett moving to Tampa as a child.

Percy (Purcell) was one of the founding members of the Golden Hawks Motorcycle Club. He retired from Wonder Bread Continental Bakery after 30 years. He was a member of College Hill COGIC and served on the Ushers Board for many years. He built an extensive baseball cap collection, was an avid domino player and antique car enthusiast. Percy loved RVing, and was also well known for his homemade Bar-B-Que sauce.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Helen Johnson Everett; daughter, Marilyn Everett; parents, Percy and Nora Everett; sisters, Alice Everett Butler and Annie Murl Cole; brothers, Ernest, Willie, Arthur, Jessie, Roosevelt, and Edward Everett.

He leaves to cherish his memories with his two devoted and loving daughters, Shirley Everett Houston (Lonnie) and Karen Everett-Saab; god-son, Elder Tommie Jones (Cynthia); grandchildren, Demetric Gant Sr. (Kissa), Sherri Hall (James), Lani and Lonnie Houston II, and Donna Renaud; great-grandchildren, Ashley Gant, Brandon Hall, Demetric Gant Jr., and Carter Houston; great-great-grandchildren, Zayden Gant, Amina Houston, and Kymora Williams; sister, Consuela Leath, Gainesville, Fl.; brothers, Morris, Bryant, and Monroe Everett; brother-in-law, Melvin Johnson; sisters-in-law, Jackie and Thio Everett, Bernice and Claretha Bolden, and Hanna Williams; devoted nephews, George Bunch and craftsman Michael Johnson; devoted niece, Valerie Mosley; extended family members and special friends, Arthur Randolph, Elmore Bryant family, and Joe Chavez; notable friends, Ragan Park Senior Center, The Jazzy Seniors, and the domino players; special appreciation to the caregiver, Claudia Washington Gainer; and a host of other loving relatives.
