Graveside services for Mr. Percy Lee Grant Henderson of Brooksville, Florida who passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013, will be held on Wednesday, January 23rd, 11:00 a.m. at Lang Memorial Park Cemetery, Brooksville, Florida. Percy was born September 23, 1928 in Warbash, Arkansas to the late Willie Bloomingbush Grant and Mattie Bruce Grant. He was a heavy equipment operator in road construction for Cone Brothers before retiring. Percy enjoyed farming and spending time with his family and friends. Percy was preceded in death by brothers Aaron J. Henderson and Levi "Too Tight" Collins. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Evelyn Chester Henderson; two daughters, Sarah Henderson Thomas of Clarksdale, MS and Obdulia Nicole Henderson of Tampa; one brother, Perry Henderson of Jackson, MS; sister, Josephine Collins Williams of Tampa; five grandchildren, Derrick Moore, Daryl Moore, Neecie Thomas and Shauna Thomas of Mississippi and Tiara Henderson of Tampa; one great grandson, Darius Moore; nieces, Mary Clegg of Jackson, MS, Evelyn Henderson and Josephine Henderson of Belzoni, MS; nephews, James Purnell (Carolyn) of Tampa and Melvin Henderson of Yazoo, MS; mother-in-law, Mary L. Chester, Tampa; sisters-in-laws, Hazel Hampton of Austell, GA, Lois Sims, Bradenton, FL, Jernice Chester Martin, Brooksville, FL, Juanita Chester Ford, St. Petersburg, FL, Jackie Chester Lewis (James), Margaret Chester Ross (James), Harriet Chester Watkins, Tampa, Alice Chester Holden (Ollice), Locust Grove, GA; brothers-in-law, Leon Chester (Yun), Eric Chester of Tampa; and a host of other nieces, nephews, entire Henderson and Chester families, and all of our Brooksville family and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 22nd, from 4 to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to dress casual and meet at Lang Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday for the service.
