Homegoing services for Mr. Peter A. Cummings I of Tampa, who passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014, will be held on Saturday, September 27th, 12:00 p.m. at New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Larry Roundtree, II, Pastor, with Bishop Chauncey King of Greater Works Tabernacle of Conley, Georgia, pastor officiating. Interment will be Florida National Cemetery. Mr. Peter Cummings was born on January 17, 1952 in Liveoak, Florida. He was of the Apostolic Faith and member of the House of Prayer Church, Miami, FL. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He wrote gospel music and played keyboard and guitar. Mr. Cummings was a retired supervisor after 30 years of employment as a Veterans Administrator in Miami, Florida. Mr. Cummings was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Watson and sister, Lorene Brown. He leaves to cherish his memories with his children, Peter A. Cummings II (Rasheda), Araysis Cummings and Marcos Cummings, all of Tampa, Arielis Cummings and Quintel Cummings both of Miami, Florida; grandchildren, Lakita K. Cummings, Karen Cummings, Peter A. Cummings III, Joannah Cummings, Joseph Cummings, Judith Cummings, Paul Cummings, John Cummings, Leah Cummings and NyJean Cummings; nieces, Sharieka (Peaches) Davis, Crystal Brown-Hunter and Kechia Brown; cousin, Bishop Albert Watson, Jr. and other relatives and special friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, September 26th, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:30- 6:30 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
