Obituary

Homegoing Celebration for Brother Philip Anderson, Jr. of Tampa, who passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, will be held on Saturday, November 21st, 2:00 p.m. at Grace Mary M.B. Church, 3901 N. 37th Street, Pastor Thomas J. Reed with Elder Richard Wright, officiating. The interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Philip was born April 4, 1960 in Youngstown, Ohio. He graduated from Rayen High School in Youngstown, Ohio. He served in the United States Airforce for 9 years and was honorably discharged. Philip was employed at B.C.H. Mechanical in Largo, Florida and was a member of Grace Mary M.B. Church. Philip was preceded in death by his father, Philip Anderson, Sr.; mother, Barbara Gupton Anderson; brother, Daryl Anderson; paternal grandparents, Frank and Willie Mae Gupton and maternal grandmother, Emma Lightfoot; grandparents-in-law, Frank and Rosa Black; sister-in-law, Sabrina Mathis and nephew, Franklin Robinson. He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife, Evangela Ann Anderson; daughter, Keyiuna Simmons (Charles); sons, Dontae Virgil, Philip Anderson III, Daryl D. Anderson and Kenneth L. Anderson; grandchildren, Charles Simmons III, Cha'nel Simmons, Tyleah Anderson and Chaysa Simmons; brother, Dwayne Walker (Sharon); sisters, Mary Monroe (Ricky) and Denice Davis all of Youngstown, Ohio; aunt, Susan Daye, Youngstown, Ohio; great aunt; Mary E. Malone-London, Youngstown, Ohio; nieces, Dannisha, Danielle, Danbrianae Mathis, Ashley and Amoni Harris, Terriel Denmark of Tampa and Nekeisha Robinson of Texas; nephews, John Jenkins, Jr. (Mel) and Cornelius Hatchett; mother-in-law, Mary Hatchett; father-in-law, Vinston Hatchett (Teressa); sisters-in-law, Katrina Green (Ray) and Selena Harris; brother-in-law, Dan Mathis (Sharon); godchildren, Ronald, Ryan, Randell and Nathan Clark and Terriell Denmark; and a host of other relatives and special friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, November 20th, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at church on Saturday for the service.
