Pierce Lee
Dennis
August 25, 1932 – August 22, 2022
Mr. Pierce Lee Dennis was called from his earthly toil to rest in the loving arms of the Heavenly Father on August 22, 2022.
Mr. Dennis was blessed with children and stepchildren, but he made no distinction, and we all called him Daddy. An addition to the union of Samuel Dennis and Annie Mae Pierce, Daddy was born in Sandersville, Georgia on August 22, 1932. While his birthday is sometimes noted as August 25, Daddys birthday is August 22, so he passed peacefully on his 90th birthday, a milestone his son Alvin was looking forward to celebrating with him. Daddy was named Pierce to honor his mother and her family. But having his mothers maiden name as his first name led to confusion when Daddy was introduced to his mothers family. So, while he visited family in Georgia, he lovingly accepted "Dennis Pierce" as his name.
A polymath, Daddys competency was manifested in each of his endeavors. A talented professional painter, Daddy worked residential and commercial projects, in the suburb Carrollwood. Daddy was employed at local radio station WTMP for 30 years. At "TMP" (Daddy dropped the "W"), he had opportunity to support the stations DJs and administrative staff, and he met popular R&B singers when they came through. Daddy finally retired from Carnation Corporation to the extent as he was a faithful caretaker and worshiper at his beloved Zion Lutheran Church.
Daddy was preceded in death by his parents; his brother who died in infancy; loving companions, Ms. DeLoris, and Ms. Eve; and stepson, Darrell.
He leaves to cherish his memory with his daughters, Piercesene, and Ava (Jerome); son, Alvin (Kimberly); grandchildren, Addidas, and Chafonda (Emery); great-grandchild, baby Kingsley; stepchildren and grandchildren, Chandra, Dwight, Antoine, Kerry, and Quinton; loyal and attentive friends, Mr. Simon, Mr. Joe, Ms. Rhonda, Mr. Don, Mr. Ron, Ms. Michelle, Mr. Jerry, Ms. Kia, and Ms. Joshala; and goddaughter, Ms. Victoria. We are grateful for each of you. We are humbled by your grace and compassion, and we are so thankful for your expressions of love and care for Daddy and our family.
