Homegoing Celebration for Sister Pinkie Bell Zackery Shedrick of Tampa, who was called from labor to eternal rest on Saturday, July 12, 2014, will be held Saturday, July 19th, 11:00 a.m. at Greater Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, 1225 N. Nebraska Ave., Rev. Dr. B.R. Fulton, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. She was born on June 30, 1926 in Morgan, Georgia to the late Eddie and Hattie Zackery. She relocated to Tampa, Florida in 1944 and was employed by Tampa General Hospital until she retired in 1985. She was a life-long and faithful member of Mt. Moriah, having joined the church in the early 1950's under the leadership of the late Rev. J.B. Bryant. She so loved singing in Choir #1 and attending church school. She was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Brooks, godsister, Beatrice Green and her devoted companion, Deacon Arthur Hendley, Sr. She leaves to cherish loving memories: her daughter, Kathy Griffin (and friend, Adrian); grandson, Jaison Griffin, Sr. (Sheryl), granddaughter, Keaira Brown (James); great grandchildren, Justyce Griffin, Jaiya Griffin, Jaison Griffin, Jr., and Serenity Brown; goddaughter, April Green and family; cousins, Eloise Smith and family, Pearl Oliver and family, Valerie Thomas of Albany, GA, Pinkney family, Carlton Jackson of Detroit, MI, Johnny Reynolds, Melissa Bryant and family, and Joel and Libby Pinkney; extended family: Yolanda Archie, Jennifer and Jimmy Clyde, Hendley family, Brownie Mae Herbin, Louise Mills, Leon and Rosa Austin, Corrine Brown, Cheryl Smith, Petra Moore, Corey and Leah Moore, Terrance Mitchell, Linda Hadnott and family, Charles and Jewelene Black, Nathaniel James and family and a host of sorrowing relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 18th from 5p.m .to 8p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
