Preston Lee
Lawrence
April 23, 1937 – September 6, 2023
Mr. Preston Lee Lawrence, Sr. was born on April 23, 1937, to the late Arrester Lawrence and Annie Mae Vickers in Barbour County. He attended the Baker Hill County School System, but later relocated to Tampa, Florida, and served in construction and carpentry. Later in life, his love for automotive and mechanic work grew his name throughout the Tampa Bay area, and Lawrence Quick Service, "Home of Mr. Quick", was born. He shared a special love for music and people and was able to combine them both when he started the Motorcycle Club. You could always catch him serving his guests and managing the club, or on the mic, where "Wolf Man Productions" could bring even the quietest person to their feet. With all that he had already accomplished in life from serving his community, and his family, and being the founder and organizer of the Blue Flame Social Club, none of this topped his greatest joy of accepting Jesus Christ in his heart, at Peace Progressive MB Church, under the leadership of Rev. W.F. Leonard. Preston worked and served as the president of the usher board for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by wife, Ruby Jean Lawrence; parents, Arrester Lawrence and Annie Mae Vickers, brothers, A. L. Lawrence, Raymond Vickers, Roosevelt Lawrence Sr., and Joe Lawrence; sisters, Callie Pearl Mills, Betty Williams, and Hassie Billins; nephew, John Mills, and nieces, Sarah Ann Cochran, and Linda Gant.
Preston leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Deanna (Mike) Royal; son, Preston Lawrence Jr.(Audresha); grandchildren, Deanndra, Anthony, Briauna, Karmin, Neveah, Jasmine, Jvonna, and Kehlani; great-grandchildren, DeOndre, Andre, Jayda, and Josiah; sisters, Dorothy Grady, Annie Bell Cochran, and Maryanne Richards; sister-in-law, Bertha Lawrence; nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews, with whom he shared a bond with each and every last one; daughters of the heart, Michelle Jenkins (Kevin) and Tanyia Folson; grandchildren of the heart, Robin and Michelle Gardner,Jeremiah Folson, and a host of other sorrowing loved ones, family and friends.
