Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Quintard Hurt of Tampa who passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015, will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2:00 p.m. at Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist, 1207 N. Jefferson St., Rev. Oscar Johnson, Pastor, with Rev. Anthony Henry, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Quintard was born April 27, 1950 to the late Henry and Ruth (Anderson) Hurt. He loved to play chess and surf the internet on his computer. He also enjoyed watching black and white movies and reconnecting with old classmates. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, James and Mattie Elliott and uncle, Hosea Elliott. Quintard leaves to cherish his precious memories with his devoted wife, Joan Hurt; brother, Keith Anderson (Melvina), Plano, TX; aunt, Dorian Elliott, Union, NJ; niece, Courtney Anderson, Atlanta, GA; nephew, Kyle Anderson, St. Paul, MN; cousins, Norma Stanley, Newark, NJ, Preston Jones, Baltimore, MD , Regina McNeil (Chester), Hillside, NJ and Tyrone Hurt; special cousins-in-law, Johnny and Shirley Crawford, Dallas, Texas and cousins-in-law, Della Mills, Michael Coleman, Flora Dawson, Agnes Judge, James Robinson; like a mother, Bernell Brown and dear friend, Linda Dawson and friend, Andy Ayo; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and supportive friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2015. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
