Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Rachel Joyner Porter of Tampa who passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 will be held on Thursday, December 4th at 11:00 a.m., Mt. Moriah P.B. Church, 1225 N. Nebraska Ave., Rev. Dr. B.R. Fulton, pastor officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Rachel was born April 17, 1955 in Tampa, Florida to the late Samuel and Beulah Joyner. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Alfred and Earl Joyner and sister, Martha Walker. Rachel was employed with Walmart for 10years. She leaves to cherish her loving memories with her brother, Ralph Joyner (Martha); sister, Pearlie M. James; nephews, Robert James, Kenneth James, Leonard James (Paula), Reginald James, Kelvin Walker (Linda), Darrell Walker (Barbara), Stanley Joyner, Ralph Joyner, Jr. (Marissa), Alfred Joyner, Jr., Michael Joyner and Lamont Joyner; nieces, Carla Joyner, Cynthia Joyner, Tracy Smith, Bridget James, Tarita Williams (John), Harriett Gordon (James), Yvette Walker, Josette Walker, Denine Rutledge (Keith); godson, DeMario Sanders; goddaughter, Tonyata Thompson and best friend, Sharon Thompson; and a host of other family, dear friends and co-workers. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home, Wednesday December 3rd from 4 to 7 p.m. The family receive guest from 5-6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Thursday for the service.
