Homegoing services for Mr. Ray Johnson of Tampa who passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015, will be held on Saturday, March 21st, 2:00 p.m., at Hood Temple AME Zion Church, at 3608 N. 26th Street, Rev. Phillip Jenkins, officiating. The interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Ray Johnson was born June 25, 1924 in Brooklet, Georgia to the late Rufus Johnson and Mary Crawford Johnson. Ray enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Johnson, son, Ray Johnson, Jr. and grandson, David Jackson. He leaves to cherish his memories with children, Robert Jackson (Lillian), Mary Bellamy (Leroy, Sr. "Doc"), Charles McNeal, Diane McNeal, Carolyn Johnson (Remy), Jacqueline Monge (Anthony), Joann Atkins, Tony Johnson, Derrick Johnson, James Battle and Gwendolyn Johnson (Tony); grandchildren, Kenny Jackson, Catherine Johnson, Brenda and Clarence Ward, Latasha, Cedric, Harvavett and Leroy Bellamy, Jr., Leroy and Tameka Brown, Chris Sanders, Keisha and Kella Dozier, Paul Williams, Sebrina Ellis, Katurah, Chasity, Donna, Lil Charles, Jannail and Nicole McNeal, Carla and Kimberly Askiew, Lavern, Tawanda, Rhonda, and Harold Jackson, Anthony Butler, Horace Sheppard, Shenale, Teresa and Reginald Jelks, Harriett Hillman, Rakim Philon, Remy Kerolle, James Battle, Jr., and Tashara Reese, Sedrina and Timothy McNeal and Tashara McNeal; a host of great grandchildren; brothers, Roosevelt Johnson, Brantley Johnson, Eugene Johnson and R.J. Johnson; sisters, Mary L. Smith Thelma Smith and Lillie Mae Smith; devoted cousin, Oreda Taylor; sister-in-law, Flossie Dozier; and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, other cousins, relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, March 20th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
