Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Ray Starks of Thonotosassa, Florida, who passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013, will be held on Saturday, May 18th, 12:30 p.m. at Faith Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 2916 Orient Road, Tampa, Florida, 33619, Pastor Eric E. Campbell along with Pastor W.L. Jackson of Macedonia M.B. Church, Thonotosassa, Florida, officiating. Interment will be in Mayberry Cemetery, Seffner, Florida. Ray was born November 11, 1925 in Tampa, Florida. He loved to talk and entertain friends and family, young and old. He was preceded in death by his parents, Josephus Starks and Juanita Larry; grandmother, Julia Larry, sisters, Laurabell Washington, Lorene Williams, and Dorothy; daughters, Carolyn Starks, Alecia Starks-Jackson, Betty J. Reynolds, and Tonya D.Starks and son, Johnnie Lee Starks. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory: wife, Cottie Mae Starks; sons, Ray Starks (Beverly), Gerald Starks (LaVida), Rickey Starks, Dwayne Starks, and Brent Starks; daughters, Linda Burston (James), Loretta Hicks, Rena Anderson, Brenda Starks, Judy Brown (Reginald), Cydreia Starks, Tammy Starks-Timmons (Willie) and Ericka Starks; grandchildren, Cynthia Hicks, Renicka and Shawntala Anderson, Tyrhonda, Candace and Ingrid Starks, Ashley Brown, Arielle Thomas, Tamera Harris, Sierra Timmons, Jasmine and Alexandria Wynn, Gabrielle James, Aramis Wilds (Garnell), Vonda Stubbs (Kenny), Tarsha Wiggins (Roosevelt), Corey Young, Alvia, Brianna, Brittney and Rayana Starks, Kevin Priester, Craig Barnum, Michael (Cleshauna), Derrick and Antonio Hicks, Rueben Anderson (Sheena), Eric Starks, Reshard, and Reginald, Jr. Brown, Willie III and Dyllun Timmons, Gerald, Jr., Chiante, Jeremy, Vincent and Jeremiah Starks and Johnnie Jackson III, nieces, Elaine Glasgow, Dinah Butler, Juanita Washington; nephews, Thomas Washington; and a host of cousins, and other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, May 17th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
