Raymond G.
Richards, Sr.
February 11, 1954 – February 10, 2026
Mr. Raymond "Shine Eye" Richards, Sr. was born on February 11, 1954, in Montego Bay, Jamaica, to Seabert Richards and Gerzell Warren. Raymond was a man of many talents and passions. He found great joy in life's simple pleasures: watching Western movies, especially alongside his children, spending peaceful days on the water fishing, and working on his cars. Truly a jack of all trades, Raymond was known for his remarkable ability to fix, build, and create with his hands. Beyond his skills, Raymond will be remembered most for the strength of his character. He was handy, loving, kind, intelligent, adventurous, wise, faith-filled, creative, courageous, selfless, passionate, and strong. His presence brought comfort and inspiration to those who knew him, and his adventurous spirit left a lasting impression on family and friends alike.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Seabert Richards and Gerzell Powell (Ms Jane); daughter, Tosheka Richards; grandmothers, Eva Warren and Hilda Harding (Aunt Hilda); uncles, Canaan and Joseph; and aunt, Hyacinth Johnson (Aunt Jenny).
He leaves cherished memories to his son, Raymond George Richards, Jr.; daughters, Judy Ann Richards, Nadia Richards, Korena Richards, Brittney Richards, Whittney Richards and Syttney Richards; grandchildren, Josiah Haughton, Nyle Haughton, Nathan Virgo, Shatiya Richards, Tyanna Richards, Delilah Richards, Omar Richards and Sequoia Richards; great-grandson, Armon Brown; brothers, Lloyd Richards (Roy) and wife, Doris, Errol Richards and wife Jennifer, Marshall Richards (Tony) and wife, Vilma and Lenward Fields (Skinny); sisters, Carol Richards (Chilly), Sandra Richards (Hopie) and Karene Stephenson (Coreen); aunt, Lesma Codner (Aunt Les); special cousins, Tristan Tucker (Mark) and Sonia Richards (Precious); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
Raymond lived by words that reflected both his wisdom and depth of thought: "You have to know your history to know your destiny; there's an abundance of water yet the fool gets thirsty." His legacy of love, strength and wisdom will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
