Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend was born on March 29, 1956, in Tampa, FL. Reginald was a lifelong member of St. Peter Claver Catholic church and a graduate of St. Peter Claver Catholic School where he was a continuous supporter.

In 1974, he graduated from Tampa Catholic High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy in August 1978 and served 8 years of active duty as a Navy Corpsman.

On September 13, 1980, he married his beloved wife of 42 years Mychell Robison at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts.

On April 1, 1999, after 12 years in the Navy Reserve, he retired as a Chief Petty Officer from the United States Navy. He devoted 30 years of service to the University of South Florida working in Sponsored Grants and Research. Reginald was an avid supporter of the University of South Florida as a lifetime member of the national alumni association and a USF Football season ticket holder since their inaugural season.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Grant Gooden; stepfather, Robert C. Gooden; father, Frank Robinson, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Hurley and Nanette Grant; and sister/niece, Marissa Townsend.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Mychell Robinson; loving daughters, Remy Hutchins (Juan), and Rene Sanders (Joe, Jr.); grandchildren, Joe Sanders III, Janae Sanders, Juan Hutchins II, Jax Sanders, and Jared Hutchins; siblings, Rasheed Muhammad, Jewel Gooden-Liburd (Patrick), Karla, Melanie, and Lori Gooden; aunts, Rose Gainey (Dennis) and Annette Bowers (Don Drummond); and a host of other loving relatives, cousins, and friends.
