Homegoing service for Mr. Rene Calvin Allen, Sr.of Tampa who passed away on Friday, September 14, 2012 will be held on Saturday, September 22nd, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 7221 Sherrill Street, Rev. Roy E. Young, Jr., pastor officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Rene was born in Tampa, Florida on March 22, 1952 and was a part of the Disciples of Christ ministry. Rene was a veteran of the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1982. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends and barbecuing. He was employed as a truck driver for many years and worked his last employment years at Alafia Assisted Living Facility. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ollie Mae Tagget; stepfather, Henry A. Taggett; father, Freeman Conyers, Sr., brothers, Vincent Taggett and Freeman Conyers, Jr.; grandparents, Alder Hodo and Scriven Gibbs. He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with children, Rene C.
