She was born in Tampa, Florida to Arthur G. Thompson, Sr. and Carolyn Bailey. Renee was a member of St. John Progressive M.B. Church. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ulysses Bailey, Sr., uncle, Ulysses Bailey, Jr. and grandmother, Sherlene Thompson. She leaves to cherish her memories with her husband, Jimmy Patton; she helped raise her husband's children and a host of grandchildren; parents, Arthur G. Thompson, Sr. (Robin) and Carolyn Bailey (Tony); grandmother, Earmy Love-Bailey; brothers, Arthur Thompson III, Arthur G. Thompson, Jr., Staff Sgt. Anthony J.
