Home going services for Rethie Mae Underwood of Dover, FL who passed away on Friday, January 19, 2012, will be held Saturday January 28th, 11:00 a.m. at Peace Progressive Primitive Baptist Church, 2628 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL., Pastor Timothy J. Kemp, officiating. Interment will be in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, Ashford, Alabama. Rethie Mae Underwood was born December 11, 1942. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at a young age. She was a mother at Peace Progressive Primitive Baptist Church. Rethie also earned a degree in the culinary arts and retired as a chef. Mrs. Underwood continued her education and obtained a degree as a teacher's aide and worked with Hillsborough County Schools for ten years. She enjoyed cooking, working with children and gardening. Mrs. Underwood leaves behind, five children, many grandchildren and three great grandchildren; three brothers; two sisters; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends who were enlightened and delighted by her presence. Her viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home, on Friday, January 27th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
