Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Reva Mae Harris Taylor of Tampa, Florida who passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 will be held Friday, June 6th, 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3920 E. Osborne Ave. Dr. Patrick Vincent, pastor with Pastor Thesus Young, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Reva Mae Harris-Taylor was born April 16, 1927 in Tampa, Florida to the late Ira and Adeline Harris. She was a former member of True Hearts Mt. Calvary SDA, deaconess at Mt. Calvary Seventh Day Adventist, a part of Abe Brown Prison Ministry and the Golden Age Senior Choir. Reva enjoyed singing and watching spiritual programs. She was preceded in death by parents, Ira and Adeline Harris, husband, Elbert Taylor, Jr.; three children one whom she adored and nurtured her special needs until her death, Anne Marie; granddaughter, Xavia DI Williams; brothers, Freddy Harris, Richard Harris and Nathaniel Harris; sisters, Vivian Harris-Knight and Lillian Harris-Cusseaux; aunt, Juanita Shannon and brother-in-law, Rev. Curtis Drayton. She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with children, Elder Elbert Lee "Chuck" Taylor III (Gloria), Patrice A Dixie and Sylvia L. Taylor; special daughter, Edna V. Thomas-Taylor; grandchildren, Junia Taylor-Gurganious (Norris), Jamila A. Taylor-Cowans (Antonio), E. Jamaal Taylor, Ashanti J. Dixie, Chela J. Dixie, Ch'lisa J. Taylor, Malik J. Brown, Adria Latoya Taylor, Deonte' M.R. Taylor, Sammecia L. Bagley and Jamilia A. Bagley; great grandchildren, Ammi A. Myers, Tyra X. Hayden, Najja A. Taylor, Dontavious R. Williams, Jordan J. Williams, Jaylin M. Sellers, Xavier D. McClain, Marley J. Spearmon, Imani A. Smith, Jalia L. Bagley, Tyree J. Bagley, Jaida R. Bagley and Tyson J. Bagley; brothers, Charles Harris, Elder Harry L. Harris (Deborah), Albert Harris (Ann) and Lorenzo Harris (Naomi); sisters, Evangelist Frances Harris-Boykins (Edmond), Anna Harris-Drayton and Fannie J. Harris-Rodgers (Eli), Gloria Jean Harris-Foster (Nathaniel); neighbor best friend for over 40 years, Myrtle Mitchell; family friend, John Epps for 62 years; neighbor and close friend, Georgia Johnson; friends, Mr. and Mrs. Swopes, and Rosa Kennedy; special family friend, Esta P. Thomas of Wilmington, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Thursday, June 5th from 4 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Friday for the service.
