Obituary

A Homegoing Celebration for Rev. Donald Yeoman of Tampa, Florida who passed way on Sunday, February 28, 2021 will be held on Tuesday, March 9th, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, Dr. S. Evan Burrows, Senior Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.

Donald Yeoman was born in Tampa Florida to the late Rev. Timothy and Helen Yeoman. Donald grew up in the tight-knit community of Sulphur Springs, attended the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a proud alumnus of Middleton High School Class of 1967. After high school Donald attended St. Petersburg Community College before being drafted into the United States Army. After serving four years in the Army, Donald returned home to the City of Tampa and became the first black mail carrier for the City of Temple Terrace. Donald retired after working over 35 years for the Federal Government with most of his years working at James A. Hailey Veterans Hospital.

Donald was called to the ministry in 1985 and served as an Associate Minister at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Harvest Fellowship and First Baptist Church of College Hill. During his years in the ministry Donald served on the prayer line, taught Sunday school, Bible Training Union, and served in various capacities in the church and in the community. Donald was a prayer warrior, student of the word and always ready to lead a lost soul to Christ. Donald also was a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family.

Donald was proceeded in death by his parents Rev. Timothy and Helen Yeoman, brother Patrick Yeoman, sisters Joyce Ann Deering and Dr. Carolyn Williams- Ellis.

He leaves to cherish his devoted wife of 39 years, Debora Yeoman; loving daughters, Tara Yeoman and Deanna Yeoman Rolle (Genaro); 3 grandchildren, Vaisha Grace, Donell Grace and Gianna Rolle; 3 siblings, Cornell Yeoman (Iva), Marvin Yeoman (Rene) and Linda Yeoman; three brothers in-law, Bobby Reed (Jackie), Leonard Reed (Helen), Willie Reed Jr. (Pam); five sisters in-law; Gwendolyn Williams, Carolyn Kirksey (Johnnie), Linda Roberts (Alvin), Thumbelina Long (Ronnie) and Fredrika Bejacmar (David); a host of nieces, nephews, god children, cousins and friends.

The visitation was held at Aikens Funeral Home on Monday, March 8th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
