Homegoing celebration for Mr. Ricardo D. Smith McCalop who passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 will be held Saturday, October 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Designers Way Christian Church, 3910 U.S Hwy. 301, Pastor Ron Simmons, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Ricardo enjoyed watching movies and sports, loved his family, his job and having a good time. He was preceded in death by father, Ernest Smith, Sr.; brother, Ernest Smith, Jr.; grandmother, Elmira Blount and nephew, Phillip Daniels. He leaves to cherish his memories with wife, Rosie McCalop; children, Ricardo McCalop, Jr. "Quin", Nekero McCalop, Ashawntay McCalop Smith, Rikhia McCalop Smith, Quinita Williams, Latasha Williams, Kendrick Tarlton and Tavier Tarlton; 17 grandchildren; mother, Louise McCalop; brothers, Gerald Gaynor, Sr. (Cynthia), Wallace Hall, Rowland Gaynor (Francine), Robert Lee Gaynor, Jr (India), Lawrence Hamilton, Ronnie Lee (Suzette), Willie Nixon and Wayne Roberts; sisters, Maryland Jackson, Joyce McCalop McNair, Melinda Gaynor, Margo Roberts and Montique West-Harns (Kelsey); aunts, Mary Ann Calhoun, Rose Cohen (James), Julie Brown, Pamela Gamble (Emmanuel), Helen Blount, Dorothy Burnett (Peter), Jeanette Timmons and Kate Smith; uncles, Marvin Blount and Booker T. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home, Friday October 3rd from 5 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
