Ricky
Daniels
November 19, 1958 – March 21, 2024
Ricky Daniels was born to Annie Doris Daniels on November 19,1958, at the Clara Frye Hospital, Tampa, FL. Ricky was educated in the Public Schools in Tampa, FL. where he graduated from Chamberlain HS class of 1976. He was an active member of the Adams Jr. High Schools Concert Choir as well as the Chamberlain HS Concert Choir. He enjoyed displaying his Luther Vandross like singing voice as well as listening to Gospel and R&B artists and their songs. Ricky truly enjoyed cooking so much that after graduation from High School that he decided to enroll at the Breckenridge Job Corp Center in Morganfield, KY, where he received extensive training and a Certificate in the Culinary Arts. This training along with his mothers own cooking skills, taught him how to really cook delicious meals for friends. Rickys preparation for Sunday meals followed the same tradition as his mother would prepare her Sundays feast starting on Saturday evenings and finishing on Sunday mornings while listening to Gospel music. Walking by 3410 N 25th ST., you could hear the Gospel and smell the aroma of the foods in the air.
He would often tell his brother Champ that he was the better cook when it came to barbecuing and smoked turkeys (lol) and chicken and ribs. Ricky was employed at Tampa General Hospitals Dietary Department. Ricky lived a fizzed and truly good life. In his earlier young adult life those who came in contact with Ricky, he would take them under his wings with his love, wit, and fun loving and home cooking just like our mom. He always looked forward to celebrating a Fizzed birthday in November with his family, friends, and neighbors. Ricky would cook his famous dishes such as Crab Shala, Ziti for his family and special friends. Ricky was Baptized at an early age and sang in the choir. He had such a beautiful voice and would sometimes lead songs. Ricky was a member of the Young Adult Choir at New Bethel M.B. Church, Tampa, FL.
