Funeral services for Mr. Robert L. Cole, Jr., who passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2011, will be held on Saturday, May 28th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke AME Church, 2709 N. 25th Street, Tampa, with Rev. Ronald Williams, Sr. Pastor, Rev. William Taylor, officiating. Mr. Robert "Bobby" L. Cole, Jr. was born to Mr. Robert L. Cole, Sr. and the late, Mrs. Ethel Curry McNeal on November 20, 1940. He attended Hillsborough County Public Schools. Mr. Cole was enlisted in the US Army where he was discharged with Honors. Before retirement, he was employed with Tampa Electric as Boiler Turban Operator. Bobby was known throughout the city of Tampa. His favorite pastimes were playing dominos, barbequing and watching old television western. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Valaria Cole-Young. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, Leola W. Cole, a truly devoted and loving wife of 44 years; father, Robert L. Cole, Sr. (Madelyn), a very special aunt and second mom, Thelma Acosta; children, Reco T. Cole, Lisa D. Cole, Daryle A. Cole (Dannette), Zepplin M. Cole, Raymond Cole and like a son, Robert Dooley; grandchildren, Reco T. Cole, Jr., Rashad A. Cole, Terrance L. Cole, Aundrea Cole, Bryant A. Williams, Ashlie M. Cole, Jordan A. Cole, Martina House, Jammice House, James House and Brian Cole; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Jacquelin Walker and Gloria Pondexter (Jesse); brothers, James Cole (Renet), Anthony Cole and Ernest McNeal; aunts, Genevieve VonLockett and Gladys Lang (Bobby); uncle, Willis (Billy) Cole; sisters-in-law, Bea Spearman and Barbara Riley (Basil); brothers-in-law, LeRoy Williams, Herbert Williams (Isabell) and Hilton Williams; very special friends, Carolyn Haynes (Randolph), Kenny Brown, Joe Wells, Marvin Johnson, Frank Cutler, Helen Walker and Ralph Kyles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday from 5-8 p.m. Family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday for the service.
