Homecoming Celebration for Mr. Robert Funches of Riverview, Florida who passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014, will be held on Saturday, June 28th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.,Rev. Jomo Cousins, officiating. Interment will be held in Garden of Memories. He was born January 7, 1937 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Benny Funches and Dester Booker Foster. Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy where he was honorably discharged. Robert enjoyed restoring old cars as hobby especially his 1965 mustang. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Abby Miller, grandson, Jayme Q. Johnson and brother, Nathaniel Borden. He leaves to cherish memories with a loving and devoted wife, Georgianna Funches; children, Calvin E. Johnson, Reginald Johnson and Kwana Prince; grandchildren, Jordan Johnson, Penelope Johnson, Drake Portillo, Dante Portillo, Taphonie Prince, Quan Prince, Scott Prince and Phyllis Prince; brothers, Vance Chavez, Emanuel Borden and Nathaniel Borden; sister, Mary Owens; family friend, Lillian Miller; other family members and friends. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
