Homegoing services for Mr. Robert Harvis of 5013 S. 87th Street who passed away, Thursday, March 19, 2009, will be held Saturday, March 28th, 11:00 a.m., Palm River Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 4802 17th Avenue, Brother Keith Lee, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Robert Harvis was born September 2, 1950 in Pike County, Alabama. He attended school in Red Bank, New Jersey. Robert was baptized as a Jehovah Witeness on March 14, 1964, and served as an Elder in the Palm River Congregation. He also had a book study in his home for a number of years. On May 7, 1971, he was married in holy matrimony to Christine Bailey Harvis. He worked for GA7 Roofing Company for 28 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulysess and Eula Harvis and 2 brothers, L.J. and Franklin Harvis. He leaves a loving and caring wife of 38 years, Christine Harvis; 3 sons, H. Marion Stroud, III of Lake City, FL, Manasseh C. Harvis and Makaz Harvis of Tampa; a loving granddaughter, Marchela C.C. Stroud of Lake City, FL; brothers, Coda Harvis (Tish) of Tinton Falls, New Jersey and J.T. Harvis (Hattie) of Troy, Alabama; sisters, Minnie Smith (Lawrence) of Augusta, SC, Odessa Summey (Edward), Riverview, FL, Shirlen Thompson, Tampa, Rogena Carter, Red Bank, NJ, Wilma Johnson (James), Orlando, FL and Eula Murry, Tampa; brothers-in-law, Eugene Bailey (Marie), Woodbridge, VA, and John Bailey (Stacy) Atlanta, GA; sisters-in-law, Lillie Washington, Tampa, and Carolyn Farmer (Thomas) Lake City, FL; aunts-in-law, Helen Brinson, Lake Wales, FL, and Bertha Giles, Live Oak, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends; a host of spiritual brothers and sisters; he will be missed dearly by all. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday evening. The funeral cortege will arrange from 5013 S. 87th Street.
