Robert was born to Herbert and Ruth, in Tampa, Florida on July 14, 1940. Robert enjoyed spending time with friends, watching baseball, eating soul food, and listening to old gospel spirituals.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Ruth Peeples; first wife, Barbara Peeples; daughter, "Choppa"; siblings, Hattie Peeples Jairrels, Shirley Porter, and Earl Peeples; nephew, Nathanael Peeples; great-nephew, Ira Porter; grandparents, Emanuel and Pearl Peeples and Ira and Ella Jackson; aunts and uncles, Tom and Minnie Canion, Fannie Jackson, Solomon Jackson, Bernard Peeples, Raymond Peeples, and Ernestine Jones.
