Robert Edward
Stubbins
September 18, 1966 – October 22, 2024
Robert Edward Stubbins was born on September 18, 1966 in Tampa, Florida. In the brief early years he lived in Toledo, Ohio, however, Tampa (College Hill) is where he was raised. Growing up in College Hill was like being a part of an extremely large family. To this day, there is still a kinship among all of us, and the stories and memories will last a lifetime. Robert was a beacon of laughter and genuine friendliness. His life was one rich in relationships, filled with the kind of love that leaves a mark on every heart he touched. He was selfless, and had an unwavering commitment to his loved ones.
His educational journey began in the public schools of Hillsborough County; graduating in 1984. His professional life was versatile, as he thrived in both welding and the hospitality field. But beyond his work, Robert had an unquenchable passion for life's simple pleasures..Most importantly he was a believer in our Lord and Savior. He was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan, who also enjoyed fishing, listening to music, dancing, barbequing, and spending time with friends and family. He had the ability to transform any gathering into a celebration, a gift that made him the heart and soul of every event. Robert was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on October 22, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian Stubbins, father, Robert Blackman, sister, Mary Scales, and cousin Gwen Wheeler.
His legacy continues through his children, Robert Avery, Cherrel, Chantel, Robbie, Rahakeem, Rah'Kim, Rah'Gina Stubbins and bonus daughter, Erika Albury. He leaves to cherish his memory, twin sister, Rhonda Walter (Ricky); beloved companion, Kimberly Fletcher; brothers, Steven Scales and Theron Hankerson; sisters, Arkia Blackman, Tynika Jones, Lashawna Gary (Garland), and Cenithia Addie; loved ones, Chervon Washington, and Helen Bass., and Theodore Roberts; nephew, Mark Hamilton (Shania); aunts, Annette Wright (Alphonso), Eyvette Stubbins, Minnie Williams, and Kathryn Tabron; cousins, Herbert, Derrick, Rico, Anastasia, Tangela, Joseph, Pamela, Sheila, Jay, James, and the Mack family. Robert's infectious spirit will also be cherished by a host of grandchildren, and relatives near and far. Robert had an amazing group of friends who loved and supported him. There are too many to name, but you know who you are, and we appreciate you. In his memory, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, a life that serves as a reminder to cherish every moment and embrace each other with kindness. As we bid him a farewell, let us honor his memory by living with open hearts and open arms, ready to make the world a better place. Robert's departure from this Earth is not an end but a transition. Let us take comfort in knowing that he lives on in the countless stories, the shared laughter and the unwavering love he left behind. Rest in peace, Robert, until we meet again on that great fishing pier in the sky and most importantly in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
