Homegoing services for Mr. Rocell Holley "Doll" of Tampa, FL who passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 will be held Saturday, August 3rd, 12:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Tommy Jones, officiating. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery. Mr. Rocell Holley was born on October 15, 1930 in Edison, Georgia. He was affectionately known as "Doll" by all who knew and loved him. He was born the fifth and last child to the late John and Annie P. Holley. Three siblings, Josephine Hardge, Louise Jones, and Mack Holley preceded him in death. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Enon Baptist Church in Clay County, Georgia. Rocell Holley received his education in the Calhoun County School System and later served honorably in the United States Army for two years. He was employed at TECO, Tampa Electric Company for many years as a Maintenance Worker. He met and married the late Mae Will Birchen in the year 1956 and to this union two daughters, Alva and Linda were born. Rocell "Doll" Holley leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Alva Jean Holley of Tampa, Florida, Lynn Holley Thompson of Forest Heights, Maryland and Catherine Andrews (Charles, Jr.) of Albany, Georgia; sister, Savannah Johns of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Tekeya C. Thompson of St. Petersburg, Florida, Charmaine Thompson of Forest Heights, Maryland ,Charles Andrews III (Diane) of Panama City, Florida, Carla Frazier (Dexter) of Snellville, Georgia; great grandchildren, Princess J. Thompson, Countess O. Thompson of Tampa, Florida, Jayla Stevenson of Forest Heights, Maryland, Virtuous Thompson of St. Petersburg, Florida, Quaniqua Carter of Baltimore Maryland, Charlese Andrews of Panama City, Florida, Devin Frazier, Chase Frazier and Carson Frazier of Snellville, Georgia, Tyrek Frazier of Lagrange, Georgia; brother-in law, Havon (Lois) Birchen of Sarrenttsville, Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, August 2nd, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. The friends and family are asked to meet at the Chapel on Saturday for the service.
