Mr. Ronald Avinger, Sr. was born on July 10, 1954, to Paul Avinger and Vernell Patterson. He was an avid fisherman who found joy in spending time with his loved ones. His passion for the outdoors and his dedication to family were defining aspects of his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosalyn Norwood Avinger; mother, Vernell Patterson; sister-in-law, Joann Lewis; father-in-law, Robert Norwood; nephews, Robert Peterson and James BeBe Peterson; and cousin, Robert Hamilton (Altamese).

He leaves behind cherished memories with his father, Paul Avinger; son, Ronald Paul Avinger, Jr. (Alexis); brothers, Arvester Johnson and John L. Johnson, Jr.; and sisters, Shirley Puerto, Barbara Stubbs McDermott, Wandalyn Kay, and Vernell Johnson Clark; nieces, Shanda Stubbs, Wanda Stubbs, Ariane Johnson, Zoey Isabella Johnson, Milan Mackey, Jilian Gardner, Shane Williams, Mia Wales, Keisha Norwood, and Luisa Puerto; nephews, Jesus W. Puerto, Robert Puerto, Jouannie White, Stephan "Scooby" Stubbs, Kalin Wales, Seth Johnson, Dominic Puerto, Malik Mackey, Jason Norwood, Ozyia Norwood, and Michael Peterson; brothers-in-law, Robert Norwood, Ronnie Norwood, and Todd Norwood; sister-in-law, Wilma Norwood; co-worker, Reggie; and close friend, Shirleen.
