Obituary

Homegoing services for Mrs. Rosa Lee Mobley of Tampa who passed away, Tuesday, December 31, 2013, will be held Saturday, January 11th, 11:00 a.m., Greater Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. B.R. Fulton, Jr., pastor officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Rosa was born February 28, 1928 in Marianna, Florida to the late James Willie Green, Sr. and Florence Bush Green. She was raised and attended the public schools of Jackson County until age 16. Her gift to sing was discovered at an early age by her grandfather, Mr. Sam Green when her sister and brothers started a singing group in Marianna. They moved to Tampa in 1945, where they continued to sing as "Green Family". After moving to Tampa she and the family joined Mt. Moriah P.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. J.B. Bryant. Rosa enjoyed singing, cooking, family gatherings, travelling and fellowshipping with her family and friends. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Greater Mt. Moriah P.B. Church, where she sung in the #3 Chorus, served in the matron and nurses guild. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Claude Mobley, Jr.; sister, Eddie Mae Jackson; brothers, Arthur Green, Sr., Rayfield Jackson; uncle, Homer Bush; nephew, Louis Johnson and sister-in-law, Idella Green. She leaves to cherish precious memories with her children, Ray Mobley, Jimmie Mobley, Jackie Mobley and Lula Mobley; grandchildren, Latia, Lakeisha, Jermaine, Keaira, Jeremiah, Jimmie Genard, Gmmesha, Demetrius and DeAndre Mobely; great grandchildren, Kianna, KedAvia and Emmyiah Mobley and Antonia Bulman; brother, James Allen Green, Sr.; sisters, Min. Lula Mae Jackson, Annie Pearl Farmer and Elnona Perkins; nieces, Evelyn Robinson, Belinda Harris, Gwendolyn Jones, Cheryl Silas, Gail Dowdell, Cynthia Williams and Katrina Woods; nephews, Arthur Green, Jr., Leon Green, Michael Farmer, Daughtry Farmer III, Darrell Williams, Michael Johnson and Anthony Jones; cousins, Carrie Smith, Dorinda Carwell, Jean Daniels, Jerri Thomas and Wendell Smith; godchildren, Dorian Buggs, Theresa (Eddie) Durant, Cheryl (Derwin) Bright, Donna (Arthur) Russell, Pat Davis, Terry Griffin and Taywon Harrold; friends, Gloria Sims and family, Betty Brown, Edith Sheppard, Barbara Johnson, Louise Mills and Jonnie Monroe; and a host of other relatives and friends. Solosist Minister Janice Nunn-Nelson will be on the funeral service program.The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 10th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
