Obituary

We are celebrating the life of Mrs. Rosalind Juanita Slaton, who passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014, on Saturday, July 5th, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Bishop Lawrence C. Livingston, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Rosalind was born on November 22, 1959 to Abraham Livingston and the late Hattie Mae Livingston in Tampa, Florida. Rosalind attended King High School in the Hillsborough County Public School System. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital for over 25 years and had a very strong work ethic. Rosalind loved listening to music and spending time with her family and friends. Rosalind married the love of her life, Lawrence Slaton in 1990 and together they raised their six children. Rosalind was preceded in death by her mother, Hattie Mae Livingston and sister, Yvonne L. Sager. She leaves to cherish her memories with her loving husband, Lawrence Slaton; children, Adrian Evans (Charisse), William Evans, Serina Hall (Warren), Ebony Evans, Angie Slaton and Jessica Slaton; her father, Abraham Livingston (Lillian); mother-in-law, Christine; brothers, Edward Charles Frith and Larry Livingston (Janice); sister, Rosemary Hornsby; five sisters-in-law; grandchildren, Adrian, Jr., Scharazard, Azir, Warren, Jr., Roneill, Jamie, Javon, Alexis, Joseph, Jason, Chanel, Cierra and Cassidy; one great grandchild, Adrian III; aunts, Ganiel and Carrie; uncles, Lawrence and Albert Lee; special friends, Mary Strowder and family, Joann Fitzgerald, Louise Blackmon, Golden Pelham, Dallas James; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Thursday, July 3rd, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
