A Graveside service for Mrs. Rosalyn Norwood Avinger of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020 will be held on Saturday, April 18th, 1:00 p.m., Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Pastor Alvin Marlboro, officiating. Rosalyn was born on July 8, 1957 in Tampa, Florida to the late Robert Norwood and Elizabeth Maddox. She was a great woman of Faith in Jesus Christ, a senior social worker and graduate of the University of Tampa. Rosalyn was a dedicated volunteer at the Holocaust Museum. She was an avid reader, enjoyed studying history, traveling and believed in giving back to the community. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Norwood; mother, Elizabeth Madddox; sister, Joann Lewis; aunt, Idella Williams; nephews, Robert Peterson and Horace James Peterson. She leaves to cherish her fond and loving memories with her loving husband, Ronald Paul Avinger, Sr.; children, Ronald Paul Avinger, Jr. (Alexis); grandchildren, Madison Hannah Avinger and Connor Kemp; brothers, Robert Norwood, Ronnie Norwood and Todd Norwood; sisters, Wilma Norwood and Joann Lewis (Nelson); niece, Keisha Norwood; nephews, Jason Norwood, Ozyia Norwood and Michael Peterson; sisters-in-law, Shirley Puerto and Barbara McDermott; co-worker, Kathy Edwards, Pamela Smith and Loretta and friend, Vess Johnson. There will be a private family viewing.
