A Celebration of Life Memorial Ceremony for Rose Mary McKinney Amiel of Tampa who passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013, will be held Saturday, May 25th, 12:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Dr. Mozella Mitchell of Love of Christ A.M.E. Zion Church, officiating. Rose Mary was born in Tampa, Florida on August 17, 1945 to William Augusta and Jessie Lee McKinney. She graduated from George H. Middleton Senior High School, class of 1963. She was a resident of Progress Village for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by her father, William A. McKinney and brothers, Horace and Otha McKinney. Precious and loving memories will remain with her family who include: mother, Jessie Lee McKinney; daughter, Nichole Augusta Amiel; sister, Jacqueline M. Preston; brothers, Carl and Ronald McKinney; cousins, Louise and Kevin Randall and Synthia Walton; nieces, Susan McKinney, Kathy McKinney Franks (Barron), Natalie Preston-Washington (Jeffrey), Monica, Monique, Krystal and Dominique McKinney; nephews, Randy Williams, and Derrick Seward; great nieces, Whitney McKinney, Barriane Franks, Zaria and Zoey Cromartie and Ayden Wilcox; great nephews, Quinton McKinney, Adrian Wilcox and Luke Washington; godchildren, Daralyn Doby, Clifton Williams, Jr. and Willie Axom, Jr.; special friends, Linda Stockton, Darlean Prince, Lynette Matias, Frances Pasco, and the Timmons and Doby families; and a host of other sorrowing family and friends. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel for the service on Saturday. There will be no viewing.
