Homegoing services for Brother Rubin Walker of 8713 Fish Lake Rd., who passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009, will be held Friday, July 24th, 1:00 p.m. at Rivers of Life Church, Brandon, Florida, Pastor Curtis Swatford, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Brother Rubin was born February 23, 1955 in Tampa, Florida to Dorothy Robinson Walker and Samuel Walker, Sr. Brother Rubin was affectionately known as the "Shoeman" at the FunLand Swap Shop. He was preceded in death by his father, and brother, Archie Webster Walker. He leaves to cherish his memories his dedicated and loving wife, Linda Whitehurst Walker; children, Temika Woodstock, Letecia, Alicia, Kameal and Katelan Walker; grandchildren Rudell and Malek Woodstock; mother, Dorothy Walker; brothers, Samuel Walker, Jr. (Tina) and Clarence Walker (Constance); sisters, Rosa Marie Walker and Rosalee Ford; father and mother-in-law, Elder Isaac and Mother Joyce Whitehurst; sister-in-law, Vivian Brim (Johnny) a devoted friend, Robert Allen; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home on Thursday, July 23rd, from 4 to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service.
