A Catholic Homegoing Service for Mr. Rudolph Benjamin Martin, Sr. of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 will be held Friday, March 23rd, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Father Edwin Palka, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Rudolph Benjamin was born May 18, 1930 in Tampa, Florida to the late John Lewis Martin and Mamie Butler Martin. He was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rudolph B. Martin, Jr.; siblings, Randolph Martin, Frank Martin, John L. Martin, Jr., Minnie Cato, Theresa Austin and Ollie Lee. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his loving and devoted wife, Ella M. Martin; children, Duane Martin (Ana) and Alisia Martin Simmons (Dwelvin); grandchildren, Jade E. Martin, Adela A. Martin, Ilana M. Simmons and Laila R. Simmons; brother, Marvin L. Martin; sister, Pamela Martin Molano; families of the late Frank Martin, John L. Martin, Jr., Minnie L. Cato, Theresa Austin and Ollie Lee; special friends, Bishop Michael Lewis and family, John Lewis and family of the late George H. Lewis, Mr. K. Sheppard, Mrs. Willie Mae Burney and family, Mrs. Jackie Harris and family, Simmons family, Hall family, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Jenkins and family, Mr. and Mrs. Les Miller and family, Bryant family, Mr. A. Moragne and family, Mrs. Barbara Johnson and family; Mrs. Ruby Brown, Christine Evans and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Thursday, March 22nd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Friday for the service.
